Korotchenko: For Armenia, process of establishing peaceful relations with Azerbaijan has no alternative

“Now we are seeing a contradictory picture. On the one hand, the Armenian leadership declares its readiness to begin the process of delimitation of the state border between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and on the other hand, political turbulence, that is, attempts at revenge by the Armenian opposition, impose certain restrictions on Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan,” Russian military expert, editor-in-chief of the Natsionalnaya Oborona (National Defense) magazine Igor Korotchenko said, the Russian bureau of Report informs.

He noted that Pashinyan wants to sit on three chairs at once: American, Russian and European one. “Therefore, we will use our joint efforts to direct Nikol Pashinyan in the right direction. To promote and encourage him to make the right decisions, because for Armenia there is no alternative to the process of establishing peaceful relations with Azerbaijan and signing a peace treaty on conditions of full recognition of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity,” the Russian expert said.

According to the political scientist, through the joint efforts of Azerbaijan and Russia, Armenia can embark on a constructive path and “begin to fulfill all its commitments, both under a trilateral agreement and subsequent top-level agreements.”
