House in Azerbaijan’s Tartar destroyed by rocket attacks to be preserved as museum

During the Patriotic War, 16 civilians were killed, and 63 were injured as a result of the shelling of Tartar district by Armenia from heavy artillery mounts and missile systems.

The owner of one of the destroyed houses, Sahib Ismayilov, told the Karabakh bureau of Report that five minutes before the rocket hit the roof of their house, they left the house and went to the shelter.

“There were 10-12 people at home, my family members and relatives. The Armenians subjected the city to rocket and artillery attacks, and we were about to go to the shelter. As soon as we left the house, a rocket fired by Armenians fell on the roof of our house,” he added.

During the war, 16,277 tank, artillery, mortar shells, 21 prohibited missiles were fired at 40 settlements of the Tartar district, including Tartar city. As a result, 82 multi-storey residential buildings, 5,949 private houses, 184 objects, 301 non-residential buildings, 17 schools, 11 kindergartens, one technical vocational school, one music school, 30 administrative buildings and about 20 cultural and healthcare institutions were damaged in Tartar.

The private house of Sahib Ismayilov, destroyed during an enemy rocket attack, will be preserved as a museum.
