Separatists living in the Karabakh region forced Azerbaijan to begin local anti-terrorist measures, Fuad Huseynaliev, director of the Report News Agency, told Ukraine’s 1+1 TV, Report informs.
Huseynaliyev recalled that after the Second Karabakh War, Azerbaijan gave the Armenian population of Karabakh time to integrate into Azerbaijani society. However, they did not take advantage of the opportunity given to them, he said.
According to Huseynaliyev, the Armenian military did not put their arms down and were not withdrawn from the territory of Azerbaijan: “Periodically, shelling of the positions of the Azerbaijani army occurred.”
The director of the news agency emphasized that local anti-terrorist measures in the Karabakh region are aimed at disarming Armenian gangs.
“Now the activities are being carried out very precisely. The goal is the disarmament of gangs,” he said, adding that the Armenians living in Karabakh must accept the Azerbaijani constitution.
