Foreign Ministry: Karabakh is Azerbaijan's integral part, there can be no question of any status

Karabakh is an integral part of Azerbaijan, and there can be no question of any status, said Leyla Abdullayeva, the spokesperson of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, Report informs.

"Such statements by the US ambassador are unacceptable. The conflict is left behind, Azerbaijan has ensured its territorial integrity, and by order of the country's President dated July 7, 2021, the East Zangezur and Karabakh economic regions have been created. These territories are an integral part of Azerbaijan, and there can be no question of any status," Abdullayeva stressed.

The ministry spokesperson noted that a new reality has emerged in the region with the trilateral statement of November 10, 2020.

"While it is possible to normalize relations following the principles of international law, the US representative makes a statement that aggravates the situation and creates unreasonable expectations on the other side," Abdullayeva added.

According to her, such statements by the representative of an OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing country cast a shadow on the group's future activities.
