Expert: Azerbaijan’s anti-terrorist measures to contribute to peace and stability in region

The anti-terrorist measures carried out by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces on its territory in Karabakh will help ensure peace and stability in the region, political scientist, deputy director of the Institute of Political Research Daria Grevtsova said in an interview with the Russian bureau of Report.

“Azerbaijan, as a true master in the region, can resolve all issues. The goal of anti-terrorist measures was the complete restoration of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and the establishment of full control over its entire territory,” she said.

The political scientist reminded that Azerbaijan began anti-terrorist measures due to the fact that Armenia didn’t fulfill its commitments under trilateral agreements: “Armenia didn’t withdraw armed forces from Karabakh. Shelling and provocations constantly occurred, which, naturally, was unacceptable.”

In addition, Grevtsova emphasized that Armenia didn’t transfer maps of minefields to Azerbaijan, and people were constantly dying by being blown up by mines: “As it turned out later, these mines were planted after 2020, which means Armenia didn’t at all strive for peace in the region and for the signing of peace treaty with Azerbaijan.”
