Dutch twin travelers: Azerbaijan's liberated territories are being rebuilt at rapid pace

Azerbaijan’s liberated territories are undergoing swift reconstruction, twin travelers Reinout and Rutgers Prakke from the Netherlands told a Report correspondent in Shusha.

The brothers, who have visited many countries before, shared their impressions:

Reinout Prakke noted that he first came to Azerbaijan in 2000 and again in 2004:

"Now we're visiting the liberated areas. During my previous trips I had no chance to see these regions, so this is a great experience for us. We see how people are restoring the land, and it’s very inspiring.”

Rutgers Prakke added that, during this journey, they learned about Shusha and its residents:

“We were told about people who have returned, been provided with jobs and housing. We saw the new airport built in Fuzuli. The Azerbaijani government is rebuilding the liberated territories at a very fast pace. We’ll stay here two more days, then head back to Baku and on to Nakhchivan. Overall, we're really enjoying Azerbaijan."

The travelers compared Azerbaijan's liberated areas with post‑war Bosnia and Herzegovina:

"There, too, many homes were destroyed. However, in Bosnia the reconstruction process took longer than it does here."
