Complaints sent to companies issuing certificates to Cronimet

The German-Azerbaijani Cultural Center and the Azerbaijan House in Cologne have sent a letter of complaint to the companies that issued certificates to the German company Cronimet, responsible for the massive pollution of the Oxchuchay River, which passes through the liberated Zangilan region and empties into the Araz River.

The State Committee on Work with Diaspora told Report that Cronimet, actively involved in the mining industry, uses ferrotitanium. This substance was also found in industrial waste dumped in Oxchuchay. Each company must obtain a certificate to use this substance. Of the 7-8 certificates owned by Cronimet, three are of German origin. Pollution of the river and a dangerous situation created for the environment, flora, and fauna, human health show once again that Cronimet does not fulfill its obligations before the companies that issue certificates for environmental protection and compliance with environmental safety regulations.

"Our compatriots demanded that companies issuing certificates to Cronimet take appropriate measures in connection with the situation," the statement said.
