Azerbaijani MP calls on PACE not to tolerate placement of Syrian Armenians in Karabakh

Member of the Azerbaijani delegation in PACE Ganira Pashayeva has accused Armenia of settling Syrian Armenians in occupied Nagorno-Karabakh.

Report's French bureau informs that during the discussion of the draft resolution 'Situation in Syria: prospects of political resolution' Ganira Pashayeva called on PACE to exert pressure on Armenia.

She noted that the war which continued for several years has led to the gravest humanitarian crisis since the time of the Second World War. The Azerbaijani MP urged to support Syrians who are obliged to save their lives by escaping the tragedy: "It is unacceptable to use the tragedy of these people in smeary political games. Therefore, I call on the PACE mission to investigate the fact of settlement of Syrian Armenians in the occupied lands of Azerbaijan by Armenia and I stress the importance to put an end to this. Armenia places them not in their territory, but in the occupied Azerbaijani territory, thus causing a great damage to the process of peaceful settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict."
