Appeals are often heard about the need to implement trilateral agreements on the part of Azerbaijan. But in fact, Yerevan violates the agreements, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said at a press conference following a meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Moscow, the Russian bureau of Report informs.
"I would also like to note the reason, the main reason for the action. The reason is the plundering of gold and copper-molybdenum deposits. The Karabakh region of Azerbaijan is rich in minerals. In this territory, where Armenians currently live, there are 151 mineral deposits, of which 52 deposits first began to be exploited in 1993-2020," the minister said.
He noted that Azerbaijan's environment had suffered enormous damage: "It is absolutely clear that we are witnessing what is happening at two fields, and the Azerbaijani public cannot but express indignation."
The minister stressed that the reason for the actions and indignation is the ongoing plunder of national natural resources, as well as the presence of Armenian military personnel on the territory of Azerbaijan.
"Another acute issue is mine issues. Mine terror continues, which is a continuation of the policy of ethnic cleansing. We urge Armenia to take its obligations seriously," Bayramov said.
