On the late evening of September 12, units of the Armenian Armed Forces carried out a large-scale provocation in the Dashkasan, Kalbajar and Lachin directions of the Azerbaijani-Armenian state border, Report informs referring to the Ministry of Defense.
Using the mountainous terrain and existing gorges, the sabotage groups of the armed forces of Armenia planted mines in the territories between the positions of the units of the Azerbaijan Army and supply roads taking advantage of the darkness.
As a result of urgent measures taken by Azerbaijan units to prevent these actions, a military clash occurred.
Some positions, shelters and strongholds of the Azerbaijan Army in the territory of Dashkasan, Kalbajar and Lachin regions were subjected to intensive fire by the units of the Armed Forces of Armenia in the direction of the settlements of Basarkechar, Istisu, Garakilsa and Gorus from weapons of various calibers, including mortars. In order to prevent provocations by the Armenian armed forces and military threats to the territory and sovereignty of Azerbaijan and to ensure the safety of Azerbaijan's military personnel, including civilian workers involved in infrastructure work in the Kalbajar and Lachin regions, the Azerbaijani army units stationed in this direction are taking decisive response measures.

There are losses in manpower and military equipment of the Armenian Armed Forces involved in provocations.
In general, the provocations of the Armenian armed forces in the direction of the Lachin, Gadabay, Dashkasan and Kalbajar districts of the state border, the shelling of the positions of the Azerbaijani army in these regions with weapons of various calibers were intensive and systematic over the past month. At the same time, Armenia was amassing offensive weapons, heavy artillery and personnel along the border with Azerbaijan.
All these facts once again testified that Armenia is preparing for a large-scale military provocation.
By such actions, Armenia also aims to slow down the implementation of large-scale civilian infrastructure projects carried out by Azerbaijan in the border areas liberated from occupation, and to maintain an atmosphere of tension near the borders of Azerbaijan.
