Armenian President refuses to visit Nagorno-Karabakh

Armenian President Armen Sarkissian refused to attend the session of the Armenian Security Council on March 12 in Khankendi city of Azerbaijan, occupied by Armenia, Public Relations Department of the President's Office reported.

According to the report, the invitation was delivered to the President on March 11. "But for technical reasons, President will not attend the Security Council meeting."

Notably, on March 11, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Head of National Security Service Artur Vanetsyan arrived in Nagorno-Karabakh. A meeting of the Armenian Security Council will be held under Pashinyan's chairmanship in Khankendi.

Experts link the late invitation of Sarkissian with mistrust between the prime minister and the president.
