Hikmat Hajiyev: Armenia tries to involve third parties in the conflict

"Under the guise of a humanitarian ceasefire, the Armenian armed forces continue to attack Azerbaijani cities with missiles and artillery."

The statement came from Azerbaijani President's Aide Hikmet Hajiyev, Report reports.

He said that missile attacks against Azerbaijan are carried out from the territory of Armenia:

"Armenia is trying to expand the geography of the conflict and involve third parties in the war. Azerbaijan has no military targets in Armenia.

On October 11, Armenia fired a SCUD ballistic missile from its territory into the densely populated area of Ganja, Azerbaijan's second-largest city. The first time in the OSCE area, a SCUD missile with high destructive power has been used against civilians outside combat. In general, it is one of the rare cases in recent military conflicts around the world.

Armenia's operational-tactical ballistic missile systems were put into operation this morning and re-targeted Ganja, Mingachevir, and other Azerbaijan cities.  These legitimate military targets, ready to fire with preemptive strikes, have been neutralized to save civilian lives. The Armenian Defense Ministry had to admit that these missiles were brought to combat readiness.

The city of Tartar and the villages of Aghdam have been under fire since 07.00 this morning. One person was killed. As a result of a shell falling on Duyerli village secondary school's yard, eight civilians were injured. There are members of media representatives of Azerbaijan State Television among injured people."

Azerbaijan is committed to a humanitarian ceasefire. However, in the event of missile and other attacks on Azerbaijani military and civilian objects and civilians from Armenia's territory, Azerbaijan reserves the right to neutralize them as legitimate military targets. "
