Albert Isakov: Armenian chauvinism, radical nationalism broken people's destinies

Armenian society has fallen victim to the false propaganda of radical and chauvinistic organizations and has been unable to distinguish truth from lies, blogger Albert Isakov said at a meeting at the Center for Analysis of International Relations in Baku, Report informs.

He noted that this propaganda has ruined the lives of many Azerbaijanis and Armenians of Azerbaijani descent.

"We are talking about the prospects for peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia, but given what we have been through, this is more like a philosophical question," Isakov noted.

He said that he started a video blog to share the pain that the war brought to his family. And he was surprised by the great response from Azerbaijanis, including those expelled from Western Azerbaijan and internally displaced persons from Karabakh.

"I saw a huge layer of human compassion. People came to me with their tragic stories and pain," the blogger said.

In his opinion, Armenian chauvinism and radical nationalism are responsible for the ruined destinies. Isakov believes that it is difficult to imagine peaceful coexistence of Armenians and Azerbaijanis in one society. This is especially difficult for the Armenian side.

"Armenian society has reached a dead end in its development, if this can be called development. Their consciousness is looking for a way out. I communicate with people from Armenia, and so far they cannot imagine how to live side by side with Azerbaijanis," he concluded.

Video blogger Albert Isakov, a native of Baku with Armenian and Jewish roots, posted on his channel archival footage of a speech by the first president of Armenia Levon Ter-Petrosyan, where he met with members of the Yerkrapah terrorist organization.

The meeting took place on July 23, 1993, the day of the occupation of Aghdam. In the video, Ter-Petrosyan openly resorted to chauvinistic rhetoric in relation to the Azerbaijani people, and spoke about the contribution of the Armenian terrorist organization "Yerkrapah" to the process of expelling Azerbaijanis from Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur.
