World's happiest country revealed

For a staggering fifth year in a row, Finland takes the top spot as the happiest nation in the world.

Report informs that the World Happiness Report is compiled annually by the UN unit for finding sustainable development solutions. It evaluates such indicators as life expectancy, social support, corruption, and others in 146 countries. The first World Happiness Report was released in 2012.

The top ten happiest countries also include Denmark, Iceland, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Sweden, Norway, Israel, and New Zealand. The United States is in 16th place (14th in 2021), the UK is 17th (18th in 2021), and France is 20th (unchanged).

According to the UN, the unhappiest countries were Afghanistan (the last line of the rating) and Lebanon.
