UK releases stamps honoring Sherlock Holmes

The Royal Mail has launched a new set of high-tech stamps celebrating Sherlock Holmes, Report says, citing RIA Novosti.

The collection will feature images from the award-winning BBC TV series and other stories written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Six stamps will show iconic characters from the TV show Sherlock, played by Benedict Cumberbatch, Martin Freeman, Amanda Abbington, and Andrew Scott.

They include Sherlock Holmes, Doctor John Watson, Jim Moriarty, and Mycroft Holmes.

But, these aren't just any ordinary stamps. The Royal Mail has added an extra touch to the new collection, which will undoubtedly appeal to the mystery series.

A further four stamps are also included in the collection, presented in a miniature sheet. They feature new illustrations of other stories written by Conan Doyle, such as The Adventure Of The Speckled Band, The Red-Headed League, The Adventure Of The Second Stain, and The Adventure Of The Dancing Men.

The Royal mail regularly issues collector's stamps honoring writers, books, and films. Recently, it presented a collection dedicated to the famous 007 agents James bond.
