Russian FM arrives in Pyongyang

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has arrived in the capital of North Korea, Pyongyang, Report informs referring to Russian media.

The minister’s plane landed at Sunan airport, where he flew from Beijing.

Lavrov was met at the airport by Russian Ambassador to North Korea Alexander Matsegora and Deputy Foreign Minister of North Korea Im Chon Il.

Negotiations between the Russian minister and his North Korean counterpart Choe Son-hui are planned as part of the meeting in Pyongyang. Coordination of a possible visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to this country may become the most anticipated item on the agenda.

The visit will last until October 19.
