Olympic torch to go on display at Tokyo museum

The Olympic torch, which was brought to Japan on the eve of the Tokyo Summer Olympics, but was not used for its intended purpose, has been temporarily placed in the Olympic Museum in the Japanese capital.

Report informs, citing TASS, that the torch will be displayed to museum visitors from September 1 to November 1 in a unique glass box.

It requires pre-registration. Simultaneously, in the current pandemic, the museum allows only 120 visitors per hour.

The chairman of the Japanese Olympic Committee, Yasuhiro Yamashita, said that they made it to allow as many people as possible to see for themselves the Olympic torch.

Tokyo Olympics was to be held from July 24 to August 9, 2020. However, officials postponed the games until next year due to coronavirus. Now the competitions will take place from July 23 to August 8, 2021.
