Number of people over 100 years old in Japan exceeds 92,000 for first time

The number of people over 100 years old in Japan exceeded 92,000 for the first time, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare of Japan said in a statement on the occasion of September 18 - Senior Citizens Day, Report informs.

As of September 15, 92,139 citizens over 100 live in Japan. According to the information, their number has been increasing in the country for the last 50 years. This year, their number increased by 1500 people. The ministry emphasized that 47,107 people will celebrate their 100th anniversary this year.
