Mexican election candidate launches campaign from coffin

Mexican candidate for parliament from the Encuentro Solidario party, Carlos Mayorga, addressed voters in the city of Ciudad Juarez after a staged funeral procession, Report informs, citing Mexico News Daily.

The footage circulated on the Internet features the coffin with the politician brought in a hearse to the meeting place with residents. The men, wearing personal protective equipment, removed the coffin from the car and laid it on the table. In complete silence, Mayorga climbed out and without a shadow of a smile passed on to the prepared speech.

The politician criticized the current authorities for "indifference amid rampant crime and the development of the coronavirus crisis."

"I am Carlos Mayorga, and I am one of the 1.5 million residents of Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, who died of the indifference of politicians," he said.

As specified in the article, with this action, the candidate wanted to emphasize that he condoles with all those who died due to the government's negligence, which, according to Mayorga, does not care about people's lives and allows organized criminals to do whatever they want.
