Oldest inhabitant of the world turns 117

Kane Tanaka has extended her record as the world’s oldest person by celebrating her 117th birthday at a nursing home in Fukuoka in southern Japan, Report says, citing RIA Novosti.
 
 It is the all-Japanese record for longevity, set by Nabi Tajima, who died the year before

 Kanetanaka was born on January 2, 1903. She loves chocolate and fizzy drinks and expects to live to be 120.
 According to the latest data, now in Japan, more than 80 thousand people are over a hundred years old, 88% are women. Moreover, in 1963 there were only 153 people over 100 years old in Japan; however, the number reached one thousand in 1981, while 10 thousand in 1998.
