EU may cancel switching to winter/summer time due to people's health complaints

Baku. 2 February. REPORT.AZ/ The European Parliament calls on the European Commission to propose the cancellation of the switching to winter and summer time.

Report informs referring to the UNIAN, a relevant resolution will be put to a vote on February 8, in the framework of the plenary session in Strasbourg.

The draft resolution was prepared by the European Parliament Committee on Transport. It became a reaction to the initiatives and petitions of citizens, in which they expressed concern about the state of health due to the consequences of changing time twice a year. Therefore, the draft resolution calls for its abolition.

For the first time in history, the transition to summer and winter time began in 1908 in the UK. This was done to save electricity. Now the transition to winter and summer time operates in more than 100 countries.
