Eggs contain deadly bacteria

"Foods affect the level of cholesterol in the blood by only 20 percent. Therefore, you should not give up the use of eggs because some people think that eggs affect the amount of cholesterol in the blood," said nutritionist and endocrinologist Albina Komissarova.

"We know for sure that one egg a day does not affect cardiovascular risk, so we consider this number as standard. Sometimes if you eat two or three eggs a day, nothing bad will happen. But diversity is vital in the diet, and do not forget to eat eggs with other foods," noted the nutritionist.

According to the doctor, the eggs may contain salmonella bacteria that cause food poisoning: "Symptoms include diarrhea, pain, and fever. In some cases, the disease can be fatal. People who have a weakened immune system are at increased risk. Washing eggs cannot save you from salmonella. It is recommended to boil eggs for at least ten minutes to protect yourself."

Each type of salmonella causes gastrointestinal disorders, fever, and the development of specific infections.
