Australian airports will not check passports

Baku. 23 January. REPORT.AZ/ Australia’s international airports are in the process of automating 90 percent of air traveler processing by 2020 by implementing facial recognition technology that involves biometric recognition of faces, irises and/or fingerprints, hence eliminating the need to carry essential traveling documents such as passports.

Report informs citing the The Sydney Morning Herald.

In July this year, the new technology will be used at the airport of the capital of Canberra and in the air harbors of Sydney and Melbourne - in November. The project will be completed by March 2019.
