Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee (SCC) hosted a meeting with a representative of the Global Container Control Program of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, Report informs referring to the committee.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee Asgar Abdullayev, employees of the relevant structures of the committee, coordinator of the Global Container Control Programme regional coordinator for the Black Sea Naida Chamilova.
Abdullayev spoke about international and regional cooperation within the Global Container Control Program and stressed the importance of exchanging experience and information within the program. He noted that the customs authorities of Azerbaijan attach great importance to international cooperation in the fight against smuggling and drug trafficking, always support effective and business initiatives in this area.
The meeting participants also discussed issues of cooperation within the program, the situation with checkpoints in ports, and other issues of mutual interest.
