UN-Habitat ready to share experience with Azerbaijan in post-conflict reconstruction

UN-Habitat intends to send a technical mission to Azerbaijan to get acquainted with the situation. The organization is ready to share experience with Azerbaijan in the issue of restoring the infrastructure of settlements in the liberated areas, Klas Groth, senior urban planner at UN-Habitat, told Report’s journalist sent to Poland to participate in the World Urban Forum.

“Today we had a very fruitful meeting with the Azerbaijani delegation and were impressed by the work that is being done to restore cities and towns in Azerbaijan. We hope that we can continue UN-Habitat’s cooperation with Azerbaijan to further advance the sustainable urban development agenda,” Groth added.

He noted that UN-habitat plans to organize a technical mission to Azerbaijan in order to determine the main directions for further cooperation.

“It is very important to see on the spot how we can be useful, what opportunities exist,” he added.
