Two new enterprises to start operating in Araz Valley Economic Zone in 2024

Two enterprises planned to start operating in the Araz Valley Economic Zone Industrial Park under the Economic Zones Development Agency (EZDA) of the Ministry of Economy in 2024 are expected to invest a total of approximately 11 million manats ($6.46 million) and create up to 150 jobs, EZDA told Report.

The enterprise, which is scheduled to start operating in October 2024, will produce mine-clearing, special-purpose equipment, and metal products in the 5-hectare area of the industrial park.

Two models of demining equipment (anti-personnel demining equipment Revival P and anti-tank demining equipment Revival T) will be produced at the enterprise. At the same time, service will be provided for those vehicles at the plant. It is planned to produce 100 units of demining equipment per year at the enterprise. The equipment to be produced will be used in the liberated territories and exported.

Currently, planning and excavation work is underway in the area.

124 people are expected to be employed in this project, with an investment amount of 7.4 million manats ($4.34 million).

Next year, a cement terminal with a capacity of 2,000 tons is planned to be commissioned in the first stage of the industrial park. In the second stage, a factory will be built to produce ready-mixed concrete and dry adhesive. More than 20 people will be provided with permanent jobs in the enterprise, with an investment value of 3.4 million manats ($1.99 million). The products to be produced will be sold on the domestic market.

For the first time, geobricks were used in the industrial park. In the next stage, it is planned to widely use the bricks in the reconstruction work carried out in the liberated territories.
