Turkic-speaking countries urged to benefit opportunities of Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway

"We can equally benefit from the opportunities of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway," Turkish Trade Minister Mehmet Mus told today’s meeting of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (Turkic Council) in Istanbul, Report informs.

In his opinion, the Silk Road, which has an important place in the history of Turkic peoples, can be revived on joint initiatives to bring them closer to each other.

"Our goal is to create a common logistics infrastructure where transportation is not limited by quotas, goods are transported freely, costs are reduced to acceptable levels, customs procedures are simplified and expedited, barriers to transportation are removed. There are areas where we can strengthen cooperation not only by road but also by rail," Mehmet Mus said.
