Seyyed Abbas Mousavi: Azerbaijan, Iran discuss new projects

During the visit of Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev to Iran, the implementation of new projects between the two countries, as well as the establishment of communication links to Nakhchivan through Iran, are discussed, Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Seyyed Abbas Mousavi told Report.

According to him, a delegation led by Shahin Mustafayev, co-chair of the Azerbaijan-Iran State Commission on Economic, Trade and Humanitarian Cooperation, is visiting Iran: "Economic relations, including establishing logistics and communication links to Nakhchivan via Iran, are also mulled during the visit."

The ambassador stressed that the two countries have great transit potential: "We want the role of Azerbaijan and Iran to increase in this area."

"Two more border checkpoints will be opened between Azerbaijan and Iran," he added. "These border checkpoints are Khudafarin and Parsabad. We have 4 border checkpoints with Azerbaijan (Astara, Julfa, Bilasuvar, and Shakhtakhtli). At present, traffic is carried out through these borders."
