The new highway to Shusha will be tolled, Saleh Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads (AAYDA), said at a briefing held today in Zangilan district on the road infrastructure projects implemented in the liberated territories and the work done in 2022, Report informs.
“Ahmadbayli-Fuzuli-Shusha road is 20 km shorter than the current Zafar road. So, currently, Victory Road is 101.5 km today. The new 81.2 km long road will be completely safe with four lanes. It will be fenced on both sides,” he said.
According to the calculations of the Agency, the flow of foreign tourists may be large, as Shusha is a reserve city and a cultural center: “Therefore, the tolling of the road is considered appropriate in terms of its future maintenance.”
