Safar Mehdiyev talks about role of customs post in liberated Gubadli

To date, almost 7,000 vehicles have passed through the Eyvazli customs post in the liberated Gubadli district, Chairman of the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan Safar Mehdiyev said, Report informs.

“These include private vehicles, buses and trucks. About 2 million manats were collected from these vehicles and transferred to the state budget,” Safar Mehdiyev said.

The committee chairman said that the Eyvazli customs post located in ​​Gubadli formalizes not only the import of goods and vehicles, but is also responsible for customs control of international vehicles, both passenger and cargo, crossing Azerbaijan’s internationally recognized borders, provides inspection, collection of customs duties, road tax duties as provided by law.

He noted that the fees charged there were insignificant:

“The purpose is not to collect millions of manats, as no cargo passes through this post and no import operations are carried out. The main goal here is to ensure the security of the country.”
