Rashad Nabiyev: Transport corridors are long-term strategic solutions for Azerbaijan

Transport corridors for Azerbaijan are not merely lines on a map, but long-term strategic solutions, Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev said at an event held within the framework of WUF13 in Baku.

According to Report, Nabiyev stated that these decisions shape how people will live for decades, and potentially even centuries.

"Every kilometer of railway and highway represents a choice in how we shape our future - including our mindset, service delivery models, and economic activity," he said.

The minister noted that since 2021, Azerbaijan has succeeded in redirecting cargo flows through its territory that previously bypassed the country. He said transit volumes have approximately doubled, reaching around 17 million tons of cargo transported via Azerbaijan last year.

He also highlighted that trains traveling from China along the Baku–Tbilisi–Kars railway now reach the Turkish border in 15–18 days.

Nabiyev added that new logistics hubs, free economic zones, and urban centers are emerging around these transport corridors.
