Pollution of Caspian Sea by ships to be prevented

Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan intend to prevent pollution of the Caspian Sea by ships, according to Report.

This issue was discussed in a meeting between Arif Mammadov, the Chairman of the Board of the State Maritime and Port Agency under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, with the officials of the Transport Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of Kazakhstan, as well as with the management of the state enterprise responsible for the safety of sea swimming.

During the meeting, the sides discussed issues of mutual interest in the field of maritime transport and cooperation within the framework of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route. Discussions were held on the steps that can be taken on the mentioned route in the future.

The meeting also discussed issues related to the safety of sea swimming.

At the same time, an agreement was reached to start work on the draft Memorandum of Understanding on the mutual recognition of documents issued to sailors.

The guests expressed their desire to learn about Azerbaijan's experience in search and rescue measures and ship traffic management systems.

In the end, the delegation of Kazakhstan got acquainted with the activities of the Ship Traffic Management Center of the State Maritime and Port Agency.

In addition, the delegation of Kazakhstan visited the Baku International Sea Trade Port and the Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations as part of the visit.
