The asphalt-concrete runway of Zangilan International Airport, which was opened today, is 3,000 meters in length and 60 meters in width, Report informs.
The airport will receive all aircraft types, including wide-body heavy cargo aircraft.
The airport will allow flights per ICAO and IATA standards.
The terminal of the international airport, which meets the requirements of the modern world, will be able to serve 200 passengers per hour.
The opening ceremony of Zangilan International Airport was held on October 20. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan participated in the opening ceremony. The presidents of Azerbaijan and Turkiye cut the ribbon marking the symbolic opening of the airport. The symbolic keys of Zangilan International Airport were presented to the presidents.
Zangilan International Airport is the second airport of international status to be commissioned in the liberated territories after the airport in Fuzuli. The third airport is being built in the Lachin district.
