Work is currently underway on digital projects aimed at facilitating cargo transportation through the Middle Corridor, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), Kubanychbek Omuraliev, said at the General Assembly of the Union of Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI) in Baku, Report informs.
According to Omuraliev, the initiatives by OTS countries are yielding significant results in the Middle Corridor: “The volume of cargo transportation along the Middle Corridor is gradually increasing. I want to highlight the southern part of this corridor - the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway project, which will serve as a foundation for regional integration. Overall, successful cooperation in the field of transport is benefiting the economies of OTS countries.”
From January to November 2024, the volume of cargo transportation along the Middle Corridor rose by 63% compared to the same period last year, reaching 4.1 million tons.
Additionally, over the past 11 months, container traffic via the Middle Corridor has increased 2.6 times year-on-year, amounting to 50,500 TEU.
