Mishustin: North-South Transport Corridor to open new opportunities for trade

The International North-South Transport Corridor will open new opportunities for trade and business, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at the meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) countries, Report informs via TASS.

"Russia, together with CIS partners and Iran, is promoting the International North-South Transport Corridor. We are carrying out a whole range of measures to modernize and reconstruct the infrastructure of rail, road, and sea transportation. This will open new opportunities for trade and provide additional advantages for business," he said.

Mishustin emphasized that work on ensuring transport connectivity among SCO countries and building reliable and efficient logistics routes is a priority.

"By maximizing the transit potential in both East-West and North-South directions, we will be able to increase cargo flows and make travel more convenient for citizens," he added.
