President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has proposed organizing a meeting of transport ministers from countries located along the route of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor), Report's correspondent from Samarkand informs.
The Uzbek leader was delivering a speech at the EU - Central Asia summit.
According to him, during the current summit, a decision will be made on deepening cooperation and investments in the field of critical mineral resources.
"Uzbekistan has extensive positive experience in cooperation with leading European companies in the field of geological exploration and development of strategic raw material deposits, as well as creating high-tech production facilities for their deep processing. We intend to comprehensively support the deepening of mutually beneficial cooperation with the European Union in this direction," he said.
Mirziyoyev believes that the main obstacle to the development of this cooperation is the lack of effective transport corridors for delivering products, as well as finished industrial and agricultural goods to the European market.
"In particular, we need to develop coordinated measures and business-friendly conditions for expanding and loading the Middle Corridor. I am confident that these tasks fully correspond to the goals of the pan-European Global Gateway strategy. In this regard, we propose to convene a meeting of transport ministers from the countries along this route under the auspices of the European Union to develop coordinated approaches," the politician added.
