Mirvari cruise ship in Baku resumes operations after two-year break

After a two-year hiatus, the Mirvari cruise ship has resumed its operations, with ticket prices remaining at their previous levels, said Afsana Mehdiyeva, head of the Baku Seaside Boulevard Department's press service, Report informs.

Mehdiyeva explained that the cruise service was suspended in 2022 due to the lowering of the sea level in the Baku boulevard. "At the beginning of the year, the sea depth was measured, and as a result, a new route was determined for the safe movement of the ship," she said. "Previously, the route passed through the 'Sadko' bridge, but now the ship will depart from the bridge in front of the Marine Terminal. The depth in this area is suitable for the ship's smooth and safe movement."

Despite the rising operating costs, the Seaside Boulevard Department has not changed the ticket prices, taking into account the public interest in the resumption of the cruise service. "Prices vary between 5-10 manats (around $3-$6) depending on the location and deck of the seat on the ship. These tariffs were set in 2015, Mehdiyeva noted.

The safety of the ship is ensured by the Water Transport Police Department and the security service of the Seaside Boulevard Department.
