KTZ and PTC Holding to invest $30M in development of TITR

Kazakhstan's PTC Holding and Kazakhstan Railways OJSC (KTZ) will invest $30 million in the construction of the Poti multimodal container terminal in Georgia, which will be part of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR, Middle Corridor), Report informs, citing KTZ.

Today, within the framework of the meetings of the TITR development working group in Baku, a memorandum was signed between KTZ and PTC Holding. The document envisages the joint development of terminal infrastructure in Georgia. The memorandum is aimed at implementing the project to build a multimodal container terminal in Poti with a capacity of more than 80,000 TEU per year. The total investment amount within the project is 30 million.

It was noted that the terminal will be part of TITR, ensuring efficient processing of packaged and containerized cargo, which will increase the volume of cargo transportation on this route.

"Special attention was paid to attracting investments and resources that will increase the throughput of the route, optimize logistics processes and strengthen the region's position in the international freight market. The signing of the memorandum is an important step towards strengthening strategic partnership and the country's further integration into international transport and logistics chains," reads the statement of KTZ.

The Middle Corridor, or TITR, is an international transport corridor connecting China and European countries through Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan and Georgia.
