Javid Gurbanov: We plan to transport freights from Nakhchivan through Kars

Istanbul. 23 November. REPORT.AZ/ "Passenger transportation via Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway will begin next year".

Javid Gurbanov, Chairman of "Azerbaijan Railways" CJSC told the Turkey bureau of Report News Agency.

According to him, tariffs of the passenger transportation have already been determined: "Detailed information has been posted on the website of "Azerbaijan Railways" and everyone can get acquainted with it. Prices were determined according to the budget of each section".

According to Gurbanov, the first train through the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railroad has been launched: "Work is underway. Two new trains have already been sent from Kazakhstan and their arrival is expected. We plan to transport freights from Nakhchivan through Kars, but we need some time. Hopefully, the trains will operate in active work schedule. We have great targets for the next year. This depends on construction of cars, that is, it does not depend on us. We have made orders, there were some minor problems which have been solved. We will work graphically, when cars arrive. No problem remains that can hinder us on roads. The main issue is arrival of trains".

Notably, Gurbanov attends the 33rd session of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC) in Istanbul, entitled "Development prospects of transnational transport corridors".
