Indonesia won’t restrict commercial flights during G20 summit

The number of commercial flights to Indonesia won’t be reduced despite earlier restrictions in light of the upcoming G20 summit, Report informs referring to the ANTARA agency.

Minister of Transport of Indonesia Budi Karya Sumadi has issued the corresponding directive.

“My directive is that international commercial flights must not be reduced,” he said.

On November 9, Indonesia introduced new rules regarding the organization of commercial flights during the G20 summit at Denpasar International Airport, Bali. According to the directive of the Ministry of Transport, all commercial flights to Bali’s main airport were to be restricted, and aircraft making such flights were prohibited from staying in the airport overnight. This was done to balance the flights of the G20 summit VIPs and regular commercial flights - the latter should not become a hindrance to heads of state.
