First container train from Uzbekistan to Europe via CASCA+ route arrives in Baku

The container block train from Uzbekistan to Europe arrived in Baku for the first time through the CASCA+ multimodal transport route created within the framework of the international multimodal route "Asia-Pacific countries-China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey-Europe", Report informs, citing Azerbaijan Railways JSC (ADY).

The containers were delivered from Turkmenbashi port to Baku by the feeder vessel Balkan belonging to ADY Container LLC, a subsidiary of ADY.

The container train will travel on the Uzbekistan - Turkmenistan - Azerbaijan - Georgia - Bulgaria/Europe route extending to more than 4000 km.

The train loaded with copper concentrate will be sent from Baku to the Bulgarian port of Burgas. A block train consists of 91 containers of 20 feet each.
