In a historic first, an auction was held in the East Zangazur economic region of Azerbaijan, where the Ahmadli saw stone quarry in Lachin district and the Hajili limestone quarry in Gubadli were leased to entrepreneurs for utilization, Report informs citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.
The auction, organized by the State Agency for the Use of Mineral Resources under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and the Auction Organization Center of the State Service on Property Issues under the Ministry of Economy, marks a significant step towards the economic revival of the liberated territories.
According to Report, the final bids for the mineral deposits exceeded the initial prices, indicating a strong interest from the business community. Elchin Majidov, Deputy Chairman of the State Agency for the Use of Mineral Resources, emphasized that the exploitation of mineral deposits in the liberated regions will contribute to the economic development of Karabakh and East Zangazur.
