Cargo transportation along TITR up by 77%

The volume of cargo transportation along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR) in January-June 2023 exceeded 1.3 million tons, having increased by 77.2% year-on-year, Report informs.

The heads of the railway administrations of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan met with Kazakh shippers and exporters. The participants of the round table discussed issues of further cooperation, and the creation of favorable conditions for the transportation of goods along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, which runs through China, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Türkiye to European countries.

The parties agreed to jointly resolve issues on the further development of TITR, reducing the delivery time of goods, improving the process of informing about the location of rolling stock, eliminating administrative barriers, expanding port infrastructure, etc.

As a result of the meeting, it was noted that the established direct contacts between the consignors and railway workers of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan will make it possible to effectively resolve issues arising during the transportation process.
