Cargo transportation along Middle Corridor up 62%

The volume of cargo transportation along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR, Middle Corridor) in January-July 2024 amounted to 2.5 million tons, Report informs referring to the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan.

“Cargo transportation along the TITR increased by 62% over 7 months and amounted to 2.5 million tons (1.6 million tons for the same period in 2023),” the ministry noted.

The Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan forecasts transportation along the TITR in 2024 in the volume of up to 4.2 million tons.

In 2023, cargo transportation along the TITR increased by 65% ​​compared to 2022 and amounted to 2.7 million tons (1.7 million tons in 2022).

The Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, also known as the Middle Corridor, is an international transport route that runs through China, Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia and further to Türkiye and European countries. The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway is part of the corridor.
