Beijing to resume direct international flights

From September 3, Beijing International Airport will resume direct flights from eight countries, Report says, citing foreign media.

These nations include Thailand, Cambodia, Pakistan, Greece, Austria, Denmark, Sweden, and Canada.

Since March, the Chinese government has diverted international aviation to some other cities due to anti-COVID-19 measures.

The Chinese Civil Aviation Administration said that worldwide flights would be gradually returned to the capital after the epidemiological situation improves. At the same time, they will increase control measures if more than three passengers on the plane pass the coronavirus test.

As of March 12, China allowed only one airline to operate flights to each foreign country once a week, provided that only one airport and up to 75 percent of its seats are filled. From June 8, foreign airlines could choose one of the airports on the Chinese side's list for regular flights.
