Baku bus passenger trips reach 335.6 million in Jan-Aug 2026, AYNA says

In January–August 2026, 335.6 million passenger trips were made by intracity, suburban, and inter-settlement buses in Baku, the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA) told Report.

This represents a 5.9% increase compared to the same period last year.

During this period, the share of cashless payments rose from 84.3% to 89.1%.

Over the eight months of this year, 60% of cashless payments on buses were made using BakiKart, 28% via EMV (bank cards), and 12% using QR codes.
