"We believe that the trilateral cooperation format has a great future," Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said while answering a question on relations between the two countries in the framework of the trilateral cooperation in the development of the North-South transport corridor during a press conference.
"We are talking about serious cooperation between Russia, Azerbaijan, and Iran. Much has been done in recent years, and the results are obvious. Thus, despite the restrictive measures due to the pandemic, the volume of traffic from Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey along the North-South, East-West corridors has increased," he added.
According to him, Azerbaijan and Russia are currently preparing additional measures to improve border checkpoints' clearance.
"In December 2019, a new bridge over the Samur River was put into operation on the Azerbaijani-Russian border. Azerbaijan has finalized the construction of a new highway from Baku to the Iranian border. The road from Baku to the Russian border will be completed in the coming months. That is, from this point of view, the situation is very heartwarming," Bayramov noted.
