Azerbaijan, Turkey expand cooperation in urban development

Anar Guliyev, chairman of Azerbaijan’s State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture, has met with Turkey’s Minister of Environment and Urbanization Murat Kurum, Report informs referring to the Committee.

Guliyev noted that he highly appreciates the close cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey in the field of urban planning, architecture, and construction. Stating that the political and moral support of fraternal Turkey is felt at all times, especially during the Patriotic War, Guliyev emphasized that the relations between the two countries are at their highest level in history in all spheres.

He emphasized that important steps are being taken to further strengthen bilateral ties in the field of urban planning, positively assessed the organization of “smart cities” in order to exchange experience and information in the field of urban planning and construction, preparation of plans for the reconstruction of cities, etc.

Kurum noted that the constantly strengthening Azerbaijani-Turkish relations testify to the steady development and high level of cooperation. He noted that cooperation in the field of architecture and urban planning is increasingly developing and welcomed Turkey’s active participation in the reconstruction and restoration of the liberated territories.

As part of the meeting, the sides discussed the possibilities of implementing joint projects and promising cooperation in the relevant field.
