Azerbaijan to study Japan’s experience in construction of earthquake-resistant buildings

Azerbaijan will take advantage of Japan’s experience in the construction of earthquake-resistant buildings, Secretary General of the Public Union "Association of Manufacturers of Construction Materials of Azerbaijan" Shahana Sari said at a joint press conference with a representative of the Japanese international corporation Pacific Consultants Co. Ltd., chief architect of the corporation's architecture department Yoko Shiraishi, Report informs.

She noted that local companies will be provided with information about Japan's experience in constructing earthquake-resistant buildings.

Sari said that the main goal of the association is the development of the construction sector in Azerbaijan, the promotion of measures taken by the state in the field of economic and social development.

The corporation's chief architect, Yoko Shiraishi, noted that Pacific Consultants Co. Ltd. is a leading engineering consultancy company in Japan, providing a wide range of engineering and construction consulting services, including social infrastructure projects both domestically and internationally.

According to Shiraishi, in a short time of acquaintance with Baku, she saw wonderful, unique, ancient and modern architectural monuments: “We can say with confidence that Baku is one of the most beautiful cities in the world.”
