Azerbaijan sees growth in int'l cargo traffic by road

As many as 3.8 million tons of cargo worth just under $8.158 billion were transported in Azerbaijan by road for the first eight months of 2024, Report informs, citing the country's State Customs Committee.

The committee's data shows that this is an increase of 8.1 percent in volume and 4.1 percent in value compared to the corresponding period of 2023.

Between January and August 2024, approximately 1.46 million tons of cargo, valued at over $1.321 billion were exported from Azerbaijan by road, representing an increase of 9.7 percent in volume and 10.8 percent in value year-on-year.

Moreover, almost 2.336 million tons of cargo worth just over $6.836 billion were imported to Azerbaijan by road in the specified period, showing a rise of 7.2 percent in volume and 2.9 percent in value year-on-year.
